Seize the opportunity for Asia: A*STAR research attachment programme (ARAP)
An opportunity for a prolonged research stay abroad
The ARAP program facilitates collaboration between researchers of overseas universities and A*STAR. Typically, a PhD student who remains matriculated at an overseas university, undertakes a 1-2 years of research work in an A*STAR research institute. During the course of the attachment, the student will be jointly supervised by a university professor from the home university and an A*STAR researcher. A*STAR provides a monthly stipend and other allowances such as conference support and medical insurance for the period that the student is here in Singapore. Miscellaneous research costs of the PhD work done in Singapore could also be borne by the A*STAR research institute where the work is done.
