Project: Optical radiation exposome and visual health across the lifespan

ORCHID is a TUM–KNUST International Project Team investigating how everyday light exposure and visual experience shape ocular, circadian and overall health across age groups and world regions. Combining wearable sensing and open-source data analysis tools, the project will compare optical radiation exposomes in Central Europe and sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on adults and schoolchildren in Germany and Ghana. The project will generate harmonised datasets, reproducible analysis pipelines and new insights to support prevention strategies for visual health, myopia and healthy light exposure across the lifespan.
