TUM and Imperial College London have jointly published the second call for the Joint Academy of Doctoral Studies (JADS). The theme of this year's call is "Mathematics of Information: Theory and Application", which aims to connect mathematical theory to a variety of innovative application fields. The two academics leads for the cohort 2021 are Prof. Johannes Zimmer (TUM) and Dr. Martin Rasmussen (Imperial).
For the application, one TUM and one Imperial Professor submit a joint project proposal. Applications can be submitted until April 5. Successful applications will be supported with funding for one doctoral candidate at each university and other project and travel funds.

JADS has first started in 2020 as a pilot project and is based on the Flagship Partnership between TUM and Imperial College London. The objective is to further strengthen this partnership and to use the expertise of both universities to promote new innovative research projects. Since last October, the first cohort of JADS has been conducting research with six project teams in the field of "Artifical Intelligence, Robtics and Healthcare".
